I enjoy helping children who may be experiencing grief and loss, anxiety and stress, anger, or any other issues at home or at school. I work in a child-centred way using sand tray, play therapy, games, art and stories alongside talking, to help children identify and express their feelings and find positive ways for them to manage these and feel better about their life. I also work alongside parents to help them better understand their children and develop effective strategies to meet their needs.
My formal qualifications are a BA in Education, a Graduate Diploma in Child Mental Health and a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and I am a full member of NZCCA. I am also a mother of two daughters and a grandmother of five wonderful grandchildren.
I am also the mother of three children who hold professional jobs, with a son in IT and promotions, one daughter is a legal executive and the youngest daughter is a chartered accountant and married to a GP/orthopaedic surgeon.
Predominantly I have been working with clients who have experienced trauma, depression and grief.
My desire is to see a client’s life transformed, from despair to potential. Walking in freedom and hope for the future.
