Christian History
Being a Christian is central to who I am. Having been a Christian for many years now, I am continually thankful for how God has led, tested, grown and shaped me. I have always felt a strong calling to the local church and so am committed to serving God in it. Before moving to Tauranga, Linda and I were members of Hillsborough Baptist in Auckland, and prior to that Welcome Bay Baptist. Over the years I have been involved in a variety of roles including youth leadership, home groups, music teams and a range of church leadership teams and kids church.
I am passionate about BBC being a community that supports and builds each other in our Christian walk, recognizing the grace of God on all of our lives. I am committed to being part of a church that is both responsible and trustworthy with the resources it has been given, while being brave enough to take steps of faith; risking it all in order to win the race that God has set for us to run.
Bethlehem Baptist Involvement
I have served on the Eldership Team since 2006. In this next season I feel called to contribute again as we continue to work together as a community to outwork what God would have us do here in Bethlehem. I am committed to giving my best for the time I am needed and believe that it is important for the Eldership team to grow in experience and maintain some consistency over the years.
Family
I have been married to my lovely wife Linda for 25 years. We are blessed to have three children – Caleb (16), Hannah (13) and Ethan (10).
Employment
I am a primary school teacher (which I think is one of the best jobs in the country!) and am currently the Head of Primary at Bethlehem College.
