pursue God in all areas of our life, not just when the music is playing
Worship. It’s so foundational to what we do, but it’s so easy to forget why. We get caught up in discussions about whether the music was good, or what style it should have that we can miss Jesus in it all. And He is the one it should all be about right? Let’s discover what it means to pursue God in all areas of our life, not just when the music is playing.
Conversation with Jesus leads to a deeper relationship with Jesus. This is worship at its most basic level. He yearns for us to speak with Him, to request of Him, to ask for support from Him. He asks for us to be real with Him. As we do this, we will feel a drawing closer to Him and a deepening of the relationship.
We’re committed to helping you through your darkest times in the hope that we can also experience the happiest times with you too. Our Staff and Prayer Teams spend time praying for our services, staff, volunteers, ministries, and individual prayer requests that come in via our services and online.
Reading God’s Word (the Bible) is also worship. God spoke His very words through His people who then wrote what they saw and heard. Why wouldn’t we read God’s very words as a form of devotion and worship to Him?
In addition, the Bible has practical, reliable truth for all areas of our life.
The goal of fasting is to draw nearer to God. Biblical fasting always has to do with eliminating distractions for a spiritual purpose; it hits the reset button of our soul and renews us from the inside out. It also enables us to celebrate the goodness and mercy of God and prepares our hearts for all the things God desires to bring into our lives.
Remember, your personal fast should present a level of challenge, but it is vital to know your body, your options, and, most importantly, to seek God in prayer and follow what the Holy Spirit leads you to do.
We were not designed to do life alone. We need each other. We need to support and encourage one another. We need to hold each other accountable. We need to grow in our faith in Jesus together. God loves it when people get together to do life, and in this, we are worshipping Him in following His design to be in community together.
Music is powerful for all humans. God’s people included music in worship from very early on. It was important enough to God that He had an entire book of the Bible devoted to song and music (Psalms). So, music is an integral part of a worship service here at BBC.
