bethlehem baptist kids partners with parents:
Like a seed needs soil and water and light to flourish, Bethlehem Baptist Kids partners with parents by providing some ‘light’ and ‘water’ each week to help your amazing kids flourish. We know it’s parents input in our kids life in partnership with the Lord, that grows the roots and causes them to blossom into what He has created them to be. We are here to partner with parents and reinforce the Kingdom teaching and values that you create at home for your family. If you need a bit of inspiration and encouragement in the home-life area, we are there to help with resources that can equip and inspire you as your child’s primary disciple. For some parents that may sound daunting, for others you’ve had the modeling in your own life and commit that to your family. We all have great intentions, but if we don’t know how – where do we start, right?
We don’t know it all but we do know that we have a church full of amazing parents who have been there, done that, and can write a book about what they have done to raise the next generations of Kingdom Builders – both the things they are happy they did and things they would do differently. It’s the combination of God’s Word and the collected wisdom of parents who are ‘in the thick of it’ now and those who have wisdom to share that gives our ‘village’ the ability not only to raise a child, but raise parents up, to grow marriages and to realise Kingdom living here on earth, in our church and in our families.
We look at it like this – there are 112 ‘awake’ hours that we can be teaching our children each week, 59 not including school hours. BBC Kids has 1 of those hours. We will do our best to partner with you the other 58 hours in the week to provide tools to engage in conversations and God’s Word.
“Teach them to your children, talking about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up”. Deuteronomy 11:19
bethlehem baptist kids – babies
Age: newborn to walking
The Nurture room is available for new babies and their parents. This is a very popular, comfortable, private space packed full of love, cake, coffee and support. The service is live streamed, and upon entering you will be welcomes by a volunteer who is there to serve you coffee, and to support you with whatever you need during the service.
bethlehem baptist kids – toddlers
Age: 1 (walking) to 3 year olds
Tucked away up the stairs, you will find our beautiful Toddler Room with plenty of age appropriate toys, music and stories and snack time to engage these young ones as they transition into time away from their families. You are welcome to stay and support your child, or as they grow in confidence you can leave them in the very capable hands of our friendly team members who are very skilled as making this time as easy on everyone as possible. Your child will be issued a pager number, and if you are needed at any point during the service, this number will go up on the big screen in the auditorium. All of our volunteers are police -checked, and empowered to provide your little one with a secure, welcoming, consistent environment that lets them know they are valued members of our faith community.
bethlehem baptist kids – preschool
Age: 3 to 6 year olds
We have a ball of fun in our Preschool Room on Sunday mornings!
Our dedicated team lead the children in an engaging and interactive mat time, with lively songs and creatively told stories from the bible. The children are then able to enjoy a yummy snack, have a go at the craft table, and enjoy free play with age appropriate toys and even the swings and sandpit outside when the sun is shining. We aim to provide an environment where they can explore their imaginations and build lasting friendships with each other and our team members. We place huge emphasis on creating a welcoming atmosphere in our room, and loving your children the way God love us – unconditionally!
Many children transition to primary school when they turn five and we recognize that this can be a huge life shift for a child, and that adding a transition at church on top of that can be overwhelming. The Primary room is a lot larger than preschool, with higher number and a larger age range of children, so we welcome your child to stay with us until they are six if that’s what they would like to do.
bethlehem baptist kids – primary
Age: 6 to 11 year olds (School Year 1-6)
This is an inviting, vibrant ministry, with caring, faithful leaders who are invested in your children’s well-being and their faith journey. We strive for every child who joins our church family to feel welcomed, secure and valued. We aim for your child to experience the PRESENCE of God through the Word, prayer, worship and time with Him. We help them understand their IDENTITY as a child of God, how to ACTIVATE their faith, and give them opportunities for LEADERSHIP within our ministry and beyond. And we love to have fun while we do it!! We also partner with parents by following the same series/curriculum as the adult service, as well as emailing our weeks message to the parents so that families are able to connect and share their experiences.
bethlehem baptist kids – sunday nights
Age: Primary Children
Bethlehem Baptist runs a Night service at 6:30pm on Sundays, and we offer a children’s program for primary aged children during this time. We start in the main service for worship together with our families, and then head out to the west wing for a light meal of pizza and a drink, and then either a craft, story, game or movie that reflects the lesson taught in the morning service.
