BBC Phase Youth Assistant
Part Time position: 16 hours a week (including Sundays)
BBC Phase Youth provide opportunities for intermediate aged young people to encounter Christ and develop as followers of Jesus.
The Phase Youth Assistant will work collaboratively with our other Phase Youth Leader on vision and planning, recruitment and leadership training, Sunday mornings, social events, Easter camp and administration. If you understand young teens, love talking with them and their parents, desire to help lead a ministry and have a bit of a creative side, keep reading.
You are:
- Passionate about sharing the Phase Youth Ministry vision with families in the church, people in the community and volunteers.
- Driven to reach youth who do not know Christ by being relevant and providing a great space for them to connect with others.
- A strong communicator who listens well and doesn’t mind speaking on some Sundays.
- Able to effectively recruit and schedule volunteers for Sunday programs and events.
- A team player able to use initiative and who focuses on the good of the entire organization
- One who has a creative spark in them (i.e. room design, graphic design, event ideas, games etc.)
You will:
- Help develop the vision and be part of planning for Phase Youth.
- Help recruit, train, mentor, encourage and resource Phase volunteers.
- Help develop the plan for Sunday mornings.
- Help fulfil the administrative and communication duties associated with Phase.
- Help ensure there is one social event per month.
- Give young people the chance to be part of an Easter experience that provides opportunities to respond to the gospel.
- Ensure each youth has been made welcome and their details recorded and that they are encouraged to become a community member.
- Work alongside our volunteers showing great people skills in helping them achieve the best that they can be.
- Be a model for those who attend Bethlehem Baptist Church by being an example of personal integrity, discipleship and evangelism.
The cherry on top:
- You love creating and playing wild and wacky games with youth.
- You aren’t afraid of any question that an intermediate aged person may ask.
- You have an eye for props, room setup and graphics.
